Privatization of PIA was not part of PTI's manifesto: PM Imran

PM Imran said government was bringing reforms in the PIA to save it from recurring losses.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said that the privatization of PIA was not a part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) manifesto.

Imran Khan said that the present government was bringing reforms in the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to save it from recurring losses by turning it into a profit-earning entity.

He said this during a meeting with Minister for Aviation Muhammadmian Soomro and PIA Chief Executive Officer Air Marshal Arshad Mahmood. Minister for Finance Asad Umar was also present on the occasion.

Secretary Aviation Division briefed the Prime Minister on new aviation policy. He apprised Prime Minister about comprehensive business plan for the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) which would be ready by March end.
